All pets should have a safe and secure home to live out their golden years but sadly that is not always the case. When a bonded pair of senior cats was dropped off at Anne Arundel County Animal Control, in Maryland, their future did not look promising.
The feline best friends, 11-year-old Mojo and 16-year-old Max, were separated according to shelter policy and one can assume they immediately began to miss each other as they faced their new surroundings scared and alone.
After about a month, Mojo’s luck changed and he was adopted by a caring woman. But once she had Mojo home, she could not stop thinking about the uncertain future of poor old Max.
It was just before Christmas when she decided that she would return to the shelter and adopt Max and reunite the two kitty best friends. The day after Christmas, she rushed to the shelter to get Max!
Written on Facebook by the shelter:
“Mojo has been a wonderful pet, she said, but she couldn’t get Max out of her mind. ‘The idea of him living out his life in a cage just broke my heart.”
