Days passed, and the dog managed to dig his way out of the earth. Covered in dirt and confusion, he wandered down a nearby highway, his eyes scanning for a glimmer of hope. It was then that Olga Lystseva, a kind-hearted driver, noticed him. She couldn’t shake the image of the lost and wet dog walking slowly down the road out of her mind. So, she turned her car around and made a life-changing decision to save him.
She took the dog under her wing, giving him food and water, and then drove him 93 miles to a dog rescue called Kind City. There, they took care of the dog, who seemed to be suffering from nothing more than starvation and exposure. They shared pictures of him online, hoping to find his owner. However, what they discovered was far worse than they could have ever imagined.

The dog’s owners had deliberately tried to end his life, and yet he survived. The shelter received the heartbreaking news that the dog was not lost, but instead his owners had attempted to euthanize him before burying him alive. The poor pup still had the shaved spot on his body where they had injected him with the lethal dose of medication.
Despite the trauma and betrayal he had suffered, the dog showed no signs of aggression or mistrust towards humans. He remained calm, walking on a leash and getting along well with other dogs. The vet declared him healthy, and after some time with a foster family, he was ready to be adopted into a loving home.
It’s hard to fathom how anyone could be so cruel to an innocent animal, but thankfully, there are people like Olga and the staff at Kind City who are willing to go above and beyond to give animals like him a second chance. After all the hardship he endured, the dog found a new lease on life. He was fostered by a local family and taken into a loving home where he can be the loyal and loving companion he always deserved to be.
This dog’s story is a true miracle and a reminder of the resilience of animals. Despite the depths of cruelty and betrayal, love and compassion can still emerge as a beacon of hope. Please share his story with your friends and family to remind them of the strength and determination that animals possess.
Update: A new report from a local TV station says Kiryusha has now been fostered by a local family in a loving home.
